Graduate Program

IDEA is a joint project between the Department of Economics of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, the  Institut d´Anàlisi Econòmica, and the Barcelona School of Economics 


The IDEA Graduate Program offers both a Master of Research in Economics and a Ph.D. It is a fully international program: our students come from all five continents, our faculty and campus are immersed in an English-speaking international academic community, and our graduates participate and find placement in the global job market.

IDEA Inaugural Lecture Welcomes This Year's Cohort 

The directors of the International Master and Doctorate in Economic Analysis (IDEA) are pleased to invite you to the Inaugural Lecture of the 2023-2024 academic year, which will take place on Friday, September 29 at 12 pmi n the sala d’actes of the Facultat d’Economia i Empresa.
- The IDEA Alumni conference will be given by Dr. Santiago Sánchez-Pagés of King’s College London with the title “Gender differences in the willingness to compete against a Standard”.
- The Inaugural Conference will be given by Dr. Mar Reguant professor at Northwestern University with the title “The energy transition: a balancing act”.

ENTER Jamboree 2022 at UAB, Barcelona

The 2022 ENTER Jamboree will take place at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona on June 20 and 21, 2022. The EUROPEAN NETWORK FOR TRAINING IN ECONOMIC RESEARCH (ENTER) is a cooperative venture between eight leading European Economics Departments, that aims at fostering  internationally competitive research of the highest possible quality, by broadening the base for competent supervision and intensive interaction towards research in Economics.
